USA...wants to grant temporary stay for countries affected with Ebola...
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Department of
Homeland Security will grant temporary
protected status to people from the three West
African countries most affected by Ebola who
are currently residing in the United States,
department officials said on Thursday.
People from Liberia, Guinea, and Sierra Leone in
the United States as of Thursday may apply for
protection from deportation, as well as for work
permits, for 18 months, said a Department of
Homeland Security official.
After 18 months, the Secretary of Homeland
Security will assess whether the protection
should be extended, based on the level of the
Ebola epidemic in West Africa.
The move is a response to the Ebola epidemic,
which has claimed more than 5,000 lives, mostly
in the three West African countries.
In order to prevent a mass migration from West
Africa to the United States, nationals from these
countries who arrive after Thursday will not be
eligible for protected status.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services
officials estimate that 8,000 people will be
eligible to apply.
"The Ebola response in the United States has
been front and center in the United States
government at high levels," said a Department
of Homeland Security official. "This designation
has been part of that constant monitoring,
reevaluation and reassessment of the
appropriate response."
The United States reserves temporary protected
status for people from countries experiencing
conditions deemed too dangerous to return to,
such as Haiti after the 2010 earthquake.
Unlike other recipients, protected people from
West Africa will not be allowed to travel home
and then return to the United States, in order to
prevent the disease from spreading.
Nationals from the three countries must
undergo a background check in order to receive
protected status. Those with a criminal history
will not be approved, said the Homeland Security
official.
Alibaba to sell first ever bond...
By Danielle Robinson and John Balassi
NEW YORK (IFR) - Chinese e-commerce giant
Alibaba will sell its first-ever bond on Thursday,
a jumbo trade expected to be around $8 billion
in size that comes just two months after the
company's record IPO.
It is looking to sell up to seven tranches,
including five fixed-rate bonds ranging from
three to 20-year maturities and two floating-
rate notes with three and five-year maturities,
which bankers and investors expect to be the
most sought after of the year.
"Alibaba will have no problem attracting the
attention of every investor base around the
world," said one bond syndicate manager.
"They've done a good job of coming out with
enough spread over what would be fair value to
make sure they get the size done."
Alibaba, highly rated for a Chinese corporate at
A1/A+/A+, has been sounding out investors this
week in Asia, Europe and the US and is believed
to have a huge order book already in place
before officially starting the marketing phase in
Asia overnight.
Two market sources said initial indications of
interest were at US$10bn.
Alibaba's high Single A ratings will help as the
company pitches itself as a comparable to blue-
chip names like Oracle, Amazon and Cisco,
rather than its lower-rated Chinese internet
peers Tencent Holdings and Baidu.
Active bookrunners Morgan Stanley, Citigroup,
Deutsche Bank and JP Morgan are gauging
investor interest at initial price thoughts of
80bp over Treasuries for the three-year fixed,
110bp over for the five-year, 135bp over for
the seven-year, 150bp over for the 10-year and
175bp over for the 20-year.
Oracle's 2.25% October 2019 bonds are trading
at a G-spread of around 66bp, some 44bp inside
the IPTs on Alibaba's five-year tranche.
That gap will likely shrink as orders pour in
during Asian hours, before Europe weighs in
ahead of eventual pricing on Thursday afternoon
in the US.
Some investors are leaning towards Amazon as
the best comparable. Although eBay is closer to
Alibaba in terms of business type, eBay’s
spreads have widened about 30bp since it
announced its spin off of PayPal in September.
Amazon's 2.5% November 2022 bonds were
trading at a G-spread of 123bp on Wednesday,
versus 135bp initial price thoughts on Alibaba’s
seven-year tranche.
Amazon also has an outstanding 1.2%
November 2017 issue trading at around 57bp,
compared with an 80bp whispered level on
Alibaba’s three-year.
Proceeds will repay an existing $8 billion
syndicated term loan facility and for general
corporate purpose.
Credit Suisse and Goldman Sachs are passive
bookrunners.
Robotic brain surgery...
TOKYO (Reuters) - Neurosurgeon Tetsuya Goto
had just begun testing a robot to perform brain
surgery when he discovered Japan was moving
to tighten regulations that would shut down his
seven-year project.
Over the next dozen years he watched in
frustration as the da Vinci, a rival endoscopic
robot that U.S. regulators had already approved,
became a commercial success while his and
other Japanese prototypes languished in
laboratories.
Japan, with the world's largest robot population,
is now awakening to a crisis as its lead in
robotics – one of its last areas of technological
prominence - comes under threat from better-
coordinated efforts in the United States and
Germany, as well as Asian rivals South Korea and
China.
As robots advance from the factory floor into
homes, hospitals, shops and even war zones,
officials hope to spur a new "robotics
revolution" by rewriting rules that researchers
say have stifled innovation.
"We think robotics can make Japan
competitive again," said Atsushi Mano, director
of robotic technology at the trade ministry's
New Energy and Industrial Technology
Development Organization.
The agency has recruited Kawasaki Heavy
Industries and Panasonic Corp to make a rival to
the da Vinci that could perform more intricate
tasks, such as removing pancreatic tumors,
while a surgeon manipulates its controls.
At stake is a fast-growing industry - the market
for industrial robotic systems is worth $29
billion a year worldwide according to the
International Federation of Robotics.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said in
June, when he unveiled a framework for
sweeping regulatory reforms, that he expected
Japan's robot market alone to triple to 2.4
trillion yen ($21 billion) by 2020.
Healthcare robotics is tiny now but has vast
potential - such services are expected to
overtake industrial uses within 10 years in the
Japanese robot market.
The new surgical robot, part of a 5 billion yen
medical robotics program that aims to have
products in clinical trials by 2019, should have
an easier time than Goto faced with regulators.
"If you asked the authorities, they wouldn't
say they kept medical devices from reaching the
market, but as far as academics and companies
are concerned they stopped Japanese research
cold," said Goto, a professor at Shinshu
University in central Japan.
Abe, who has called a snap election for next
month to seek a renewed mandate for his
"Abenomics" economic policies, has promised
deregulation and structural reform to foster
industrial growth as a two-year stimulus drive
falters.
RIVAL ROBOTS
A key trigger to action was Google Inc's surprise
acquisition a year ago of Schaft, a venture led
by two former Tokyo University professors who
developed a humanoid robot that handily won a
rescue competition run by a research unit of the
U.S. Department of Defense. The robot had to
drive a utility vehicle and climb a ladder to
prevail against more than a dozen rivals.
"Everyone associates bipedal robots with Japan
so it was a shock that even that was being
pulled away," said Waseda University Professor
Masakatsu Fujie.
The U.S. robotics industry has been powered
in large part by the military, which provides
funding and field testing for drones and disaster-
relief robots, while Silicon Valley has nurtured
innovations in artificial intelligence and
autonomous systems such as Google's self-
driving car.
"To be honest, the U.S. is a concern," said
Osamu Sudo, who helped to craft Japan's
robotics strategy as director of the industrial
machinery division at the trade ministry, where
he served until early July.
Other countries are also pushing robotics to the
forefront of industrial policy: China, where sales
grew 32-fold over the last decade to eclipse
Japan as the biggest robot market in 2013, aims
to make one-third of its own robots by 2015.
South Korea has a five-year plan to spend $500
million a year on its robotics industry, while the
European Union has earmarked 100 million
euros ($125 million) a year to its Horizon 2020
program that aims to pull in a further 2 billion
euros annually in private funding.
Japan is trying to keep up: ministries have
requested 16 billion yen ($138 million) for direct
investment in robotics in the next fiscal year.
But success will depend largely on reforming a
fragmented regulatory process that can set
insurmountable hurdles by mandating absolute
safety, said Atsuo Takanishi, a professor at
Waseda University specializing in robotics.
The trade ministry has convinced health
ministry officials to relax certification
procedures for medical devices and introduce
affordable robots to nursing homes on a trial
basis.
It also pushed for an international safety
standard for care robots that Panasonic Corp
cleared in February with a robotic nursing bed
that folds up into a wheelchair, eliminating the
need for care-givers to lift their patients.
With the freeing of regulations, Kiyoshi
Sawaki, who recently replaced Sudo as head of
the trade ministry's industrial machinery
division, is confident that the government has
created sufficient opportunities to succeed in
robotics.
"The approval process is being simplified," he
said. "So companies can't use the same excuses
that they did before."
Comet...containing carbon..found..
BERLIN (Reuters) - European comet lander Philae
'sniffed' organic molecules containing the carbon
element that is the basis of life on Earth before
its primary battery ran out and it shut down,
German scientists said.
They said it was not yet clear whether they
included the complex compounds that make up
proteins. One of the key aims of the mission is
to discover whether carbon-based compounds,
and through them, ultimately, life, were brought
to early Earth by comets.
Philae landed on comet 67P/Churyumov–
Gerasimenko after a 10-year journey through
space aboard the Rosetta spacecraft on a
mission to unlock details about how planets and
maybe even how life evolved.
It wrapped up its 57-hour mission on the
comet's surface on Saturday after radioing back
data from a series of experiments as its battery
ran out.
Comets date back to the formation of our solar
system and have preserved ancient organic
molecules like a time capsule.
The COSAC gas analyzing instrument on Philae
was able to 'sniff' the atmosphere and detect
the first organic molecules after landing, the
DLR German Aerospace Center said.
The lander also drilled into the comet's surface
in its hunt for organic molecules, although it is
unclear as yet whether Philae managed to
deliver a sample to COSAC for analysis.
Also onboard the lander was the MUPUS tool to
measure the density and thermal and mechanical
properties of the comet's surface. It showed
the comet's surface was not as soft as
previously believed.
A thermal sensor was supposed to be hammered
around 40 cm into the surface but this did not
occur, despite the hammer setting being cranked
up to its highest level.
The DLR reckons that after passing through a
10-20 cm thick layer of dust, the sensor hit a
layer of material estimated to be as hard as ice.
"It's a surprise. We didn't expect such hard ice
on the ground," Tilman Spohn, who leads the
MUPUS team at the DLR, said in a statement on
Tuesday.
Spohn said MUPUS could be used again if enough
sunlight gets through to reload Philae's
batteries, which the scientists hope may happen
as the comet approaches the sun.

'God Boy', India
Born Baby With Four
Arms And Four Legs
Attract Crowd
Dailymail UK
A baby boy born with four arms and four legs is
causing panic in the streets of Baruipur, east
India, as locals believe he is the reincarnation of
a god.
The child has been named God Boy, as multiple
limbs are common among Hindu deities, and
people are travelling from across the region to
the city in West Bengal State to get a glimpse of
the child.
Local police complain they are struggling to
control the crowds, as hundreds cry in the
streets and clamor to get access to the hospital.
The boy's birth defect, two extra arms and two
extra legs, are the remains of an
underdeveloped co-joined twin.
The family are overjoyed at their new addition
and see him as the son Hindu God Brahma, who
is depicted with eight limbs.
'When he first came out we couldn't believe it,' ,
an unnamed relative not named told local TV:
'The nurses said he was badly deformed but I
could see that this was a sign from God.
'In fact, this is a miracle, its God's baby. Indian
God's have extra limbs just like this.'

Cuban doctor contracts ebola
Cuban doctor contracts Ebola in S.Leone
on november 19, 2014 at 5:23 pm in ebola outbreak
Facebook Share Twitter Share
A Cuban doctor infected with Ebola in Sierra Leone became the latest of more than 570 health workers to have contracted the virus amid fresh warnings that the fight against the deadly disease is far from over.
As efforts to fight the outbreak in the three worst-hit countries of Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea intensify after a lacklustre start, Cuba has played a major role sending around 250 doctors and nurses to the region. Havana has said it plans to send a total of 450.
Felix Baez Sarria, one of about 165 Cuban medics in Sierra Leone, is currently in a Red Cross centre near Freetown, his boss, Doctor Jorge Delgado Butillo, told AFP on Wednesday.
“He’s not critical, he’s doing well, in a good condition,” Butillo said. “The most important thing now is to get him evacuated to Geneva pretty soon.”
The Cuban health ministry said Sarria, 43, was being treated by British doctors.
The worst ever outbreak of the virus has killed almost 5,200 people, mostly in west Africa with the largest number of casualties in Liberia.
According to the World Health Organization last week, a total of 570 healthcare workers were known to have contracted the virus, and 324 have died.
The three countries at the epicentre of the outbreak are among the world’s poorest nations, with sketchy healthcare and infrastructure facilities that were ravaged by years of inter-linked civil conflicts.
The lack of toilets in the region was highlighted by the United Nations as a possible cause for the spread of the highly contagious haemorrhagic disease.
Half the population of Liberia, the country worst hit by the epidemic, have no access to toilets, while in Sierra Leone nearly a third of people live without latrines, a new UN report said.
Before it was declared Ebola-free last month, Nigeria warned against defecating in the open to guard against the virus, which spreads through contact with bodily fluids.
The oil-rich west African country of Equatorial Guinea meanwhile hired 50 Cuban doctors to contain the outbreak of Ebola during the Africa Cup of Nations next year, an official said.
– ‘Not out of the woods’
It took over the organisation of the continental football tournament at the 11th hour last week when Morocco was stripped of the right to host the event after it expressed fears over the deadly virus being transmitted by visiting supporters and requested a postponement.
The Cuban doctors are expected to arrive in the next few days, government television reported.
The fight against Ebola is far from being won despite some good news from Liberia where the infection rate apparently seems to be slowing, world leaders have warned.
“As long as the outbreak continues to rage in the three countries in west Africa — Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea — this is still going to be a danger — not just for America, but for the entire world,” US President Barack Obama said.
“We are nowhere near out of the woods yet in West Africa,” he said.
The United States has sent nearly 2,200 soldiers to Liberia, Africa’s oldest republic formed by freed American slaves, to help in the fight against Ebola.
The Pentagon initially planned to deploy up to 4,000 troops but now the target is at 3,000.
The worldwide focus on Ebola has meanwhile worried the British monarch who fears that malaria — which can also be fatal — would be ignored.
“After Ebola we will still have malaria,” Queen Elizabeth II said, according to David Heymann, professor of infectious disease epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
“She was very interested in Ebola because she said her doctor had told her that there were more people dying from malaria every week than are dying from Ebola — and he was right,” said Heymann.
“She’s afraid that malaria will have a comeback because of the fact people are not paying enough attention to it,” he said.
Thai police caught an Armerican shipping infant body part....
Bangkok, Thailand (CNN) -- Two Americans stole
adult and infant body parts from a museum
inside a Bangkok hospital and tried to ship them
to Las Vegas, Thai police say.
The two men, identified as Ryan Edward
McPherson and Daniel Jamon Tanner, told police
they wanted to surprise their friends back home,
Royal Thai Police Deputy Commissioner Gen.
Ruangsak Jritake said.
It was not immediately clear whether McPherson
or Tanner had attorneys.
A delivery company intervened in the shipment.
On Saturday, a DHL office in Thailand's Pathum
Thani province called police after workers there
were scanning shipments and discovered the
body parts inside three packages.
The packages contained five acrylic
plastic boxes, Jritake said.
One box contained an infant's head;
another contained a baby's left foot,
which was sliced into three pieces,
the police official said. The other
acrylic boxes contained an adult heart
and adult skin.
"We have talked with an American
who was trying to send the parcels
to the USA, but we could not press
any charges on him and we are not
quite sure which laws we can apply to
him." Bang Pongpang police chief Col.
Adisorn Semsawat said over the
weekend.
At the time, police said the American told them
he found the infant body parts at a night flea
market and that he had paid about $100 for
them -- though he could not remember where
the market was located.
But on Monday, authorities revealed more
details on the case.
All the body parts were stolen from the Siriraj
Medical Museum within Siriraj Hospital, the
largest hospital in Thailand, Jritake said. The
body parts were taken from the forensic
medicine museum and anatomical museum.
Police said closed-circuit video from the hospital
showed two men identified as McPherson and
Tanner.
A Thai criminal court approved arrest warrants
for the two men on charges of theft from a
government hospital, police said. If convicted,
McPherson and Tanner could face up to seven
years in prison or a fine of up to 500,000 Thai
baht ($15,200).
But the Americans have already left Thailand for
Cambodia. Thai officials may have to seek the
two men's extradition.
Thai police say they've been in touch with the
U.S. Embassy.
Not the first time
The bizarre discovery is not the first time infant
remains have been found in Thailand. In 2010,
more than 2,000 illegally aborted fetuses were
recovered at a Buddhist temple in Bangkok.
Infant body parts can be bought on the Thai
black market. Some Thais practice black magic
and believe that supernatural power comes from
infant body parts, if the rites are performed by
monks or sorcerers. They believe that having
the items provides protection and business
success and can ward off bad luck.
Police say in 2010, the smell of decay led
investigators to the Phai-nguern Chotinaram
temple in central Bangkok, where they
discovered more than 2,000 illegally aborted
fetuses. Three people were arrested, including
two morticians who were charged with hiding
bodies.
According to the hospital museum website , for
120 years "Siriraj Hospital has collectively
gathered an enormous compilation of medical
equipments and tools, anatomical and clinical
specimens including important artifacts and
archives relating to the history of medicine in
Thailand."
CNN's Andreas Preuss contributed to this
report.

Court dismissed suit filed against synagogue.....
Court Dismisses Suit Filed
To Stop Lagos Coroner's
Inquest
Oge Okonkwo | 15:37 | 18.11.2014
Dismissing the case, presiding judge, Justice
Buba held that the applicant lacked the 'locus
standi' to institute it
A suit filed by a lawyer representing
Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) has
been dismissed by the Federal High Court in
Lagos yesterday.
Olukoya Ogugbeje is the lawyer representing
SCOAN in the ongoing inquest sitting set up by
the Lagos State government.
The collapse, which occurred on September 12,
resulted in the death of over 115 people,
mostly South Africans.
The Nation » reports that Mr. Ogungbeje had
claimed the inquest was constituted after the
state’s agencies had indicted the church’s
founder Prophet T.B Joshua by concluding that
he added structures on the building without
approval.
He stated that Prophet Joshua’s right to fair
hearing will likely be unfairly trampled upon by
the respondents, namely Lagos State, the
Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice
Mr Adeola Ipaye and the District Coroner
Magistrate Oyetade Komolafe.
Dismissing the case, presiding judge, Justice
Buba held that the applicant lacked the 'locus
standi' to institute it.
Justice Buba said Ogungbeje’s fundamental
rights has not been breached in any manner,
adding that the church does not fall within the
category of a “vulnerable” entity on which
behalf a human rights action can be brought.
“Are Synagogue Church and Prophet T.B.
Joshua ‘vulnerable section of the society’? It is
the society that has become vulnerable to the
church by losing over 100 lives,” the judge
held.
Besides, he said the application was not
brought on the church’s behalf or Joshua’s –
and was not even in the members’ interest.
“T.B. Joshua and Synagogue church are not in
detention or incapacitated to come to court.
This case must be distinguished from cases
brought on behalf of deceased persons whose
right to life are being enforced or sought to be
established,” the judge said.
Justice Buba said the lawyer completely
misconceived the role of government’s
agencies, saying the fact they indicted Joshua
does not mean the coroner, which is not a
court of law, has already made up his mind.
He said if, for instance, the prosecution
strongly believes that a person is guilty and
brings a charge against him, it does not mean
the judge must make a conviction or that the
accused would not get a fair hearing.
Justice Buba said besides the fact the coroner’s
inquest is not a court of law but a fact-finding
entity, Prophet Joshua and his church “are not
complaining”.
“Supposing they are satisfied with what was
said or alleged, what is the right of the
applicant being infringed upon that the court
can proceed to protect?” he asked.
According to the judge, Ogungbeje did not show
any threat or injury he would suffer with the
inquest, nor did he disclose a legal or
justiceable right to protect.
“A trial court will only have jurisdiction to
enforce the fundamental rights of an applicant
guaranteed under Chapter 4 of the constitution
if the main reliefs involve a breach of the
fundamental rights of the applicant,” he said.
The judge said the coroner was set up by the
state executive, and by the principles of
separation of powers, the court would not
ordinarily interfere in the workings of another
arm of government.
“After a calm consideration of all the issues and
arguments, the applicant has failed to make a
case for the enforcement of fundamental rights.
“The case lacks merit, same be and is hereby
dismissed,” Justice Buba held.
The inquest was constituted on September 26
under the Coroner’s System Law No. 7 of 2007
to investigate the causes and circumstances
surrounding the building’s collapse.
Ogungbeje sought an order nullifying the
inquest proceedings so far, as well as a
perpetual injunction restraining the respondents
from calling further witnesses.
He prayed the court to stop them from sitting,
investigating, embarking on fact-finding or
taking any untoward action in any manner
whatsoever on any facts connected to the case.

Beyonce's little sis wedding....
BEYONCE ON TWITTER
Coolest wedding of the year!
Nov 17, 2014
Source: Jennifer Lynn
Beyoncé’s little sister tied the knot with her
video director beau this weekend – and they had
the coolest wedding EVER.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z may be the Queen and King
of cool, but Bey’s little sister Solange gave
them a run for their money over the weekend,
as she and fiancé Alan Ferguson rode matching
white bicycles into their wedding ceremony.
The happy couple tied the knot at the Marigny
Opera House in New Orleans on Sunday, arriving
on their vintage bikes at 2pm, with Solange
carrying flowers in her basket. Cue the sound of
one million women clicking and saving the image
to their hidden ‘Wedding’ Pinterest board.
Wearing a plunging off-white Stéphane Rolland
jumpsuit with matching cape, the bride then
slipped into a gorgeous gown by Humberto Leon
for Kenzo, which was revealed by Queen Bey in a
series of Instagram snaps.
Beyoncé herself kept things simple in a white
figure-hugging midi dress and platform heels,
having arrived after the bride and groom in a
black SUV, with Jay-Z and Blue Ivy. Like man of
the hour Alan Ferguson, Jay wore a white suit to
the nuptials, with he and Solange having clearly
put their infamous elevator incident behind
them.
"Everyone I worked with on the wedding are
friends who I love," Solange told Vogue on her
wedding day. "Everything was a labour of love."
The new Mrs Ferguson rocked a third look for
her wedding reception, a gorgeous asymmetric
mini dress, while a procession of sparklers for
the bride and groom only added to those dreamy
Pinterest board vibes.
Remedies to menstrual cramp....
Simple Remedies For
Menstrual Cramps

SIMPLE REMEDIES FOR MENSTRUAL CRAMPS
Menstrual cramps are caused by contractions in
the uterus. Every month ladies observe
menstrual flows, during each menstrual period,
if there is no sperm to fertilize the egg, the
uterus contracts to expel its lining hence the
blood flow that comes.
For some reasons, a lot of us have terrible
cramps that makes this time of the month
almost unbearable while it is important to eat
right, stay off junk food and other lifestyle
habits... If we'd rather work with home
remedies than take the regular drugs/painkillers
we are used to, these simple remedies work
just fine:
1. Exercising
Exercising plays a great role as a remedy for
menstrual cramps, nothing over the top but
regular exercise, do things that keep you
moving, do not stay idle or lazy, when you are
active your body automatically doubles up and
cramps become virtually non-existent.
2. Warm Baths
Taking a warm bath (or hot-only as hot as the
body can bear) helps the blood flow out much
more freely which reduces cramps almost
immiediately.
3. Heating Pads
These are useful during the time of the month
as they help relax the muscles and usually when
body is relaxed, the organs do as well thereby
reducing cramps. We have different heating
pads available at stores around
4. Abdominal Massage
Getting abdominal massage helps greatly to
ease menstrual cramps, they give an instant
relief to cramps while ensuring the flow comes
unhindered which is good.
5. Load Up On Proper Food:
Magnesium And Calcium: These two minerals
reduce muscle soreness. Although it can take
time for you to see a noticeable effect.
Research also suggest that getting up to 1,200
milligrams of calcium a day can help lessen
many menstrual symptoms. Raw milk is a great
source of minerals (and also useful in helping
your body absorb minerals, too
Fatty Fish: Fish that contain Omega 3 fatty
acids not only help a woman’s heart health it
also contains an anti-inflammatory effect that
can help with cramps as well as bloating. Be
sure to include Cod Liver Oil; It has the benefits
of Omega 3′s AND vitamin D which is essential
for mineral absorption.
Plenty Of Good Fats: Aim for 30 – 50% of
good fat in your diet, including butter, cream,
coconut oil, and whole milk. (these are where
to find quality fats)
Burnt suicide bomber....
‘Suicide Bomber’ Burnt
Alive In Gombe
'Jola Sotubo | 15:06 | 18.11.2014
The man was said to have arrived the Gombe

November 18, with a sack which he dropped
after refusing to be searched by the personnel
at the gate.
A man suspected to be a suicide bomber has
been set ablaze by an angry mob in Gombe
State.
The man was said to have arrived the Gombe
Line Motor Park at about 1pm today,
November 18, with a sack which he dropped
after refusing to be searched by the personnel
at the gate.
He then supposedly made an attempt to run
away from the scene but was accosted by the
mob. Another report has it that he was about
to blow himself up when he was spotted.
The crowd then threw tyres and poured petrol
on him before setting him ablaze.
A witness told The Cable:
“One guy entered with a bomb and as he was
trying to connect the bomb, people saw him
and got hold of him.”
The police came to arrest him and they were
going to take him to the station but the people
insisted that they were going to kill him so they
gathered tyres and burnt him alive,” the witness
added.
The park was also the scene of an October 31
bombing which reportedly claimed 30 lives and
left many people injured.
Police officers have reportedly taken the bomb
away from the scene after one of the youths in
the area took it out of the park and onto the
main road.

Miley goes topless
Miley Cyrus Goes Topless, Dismembers A
Teddy Bear And So Much More In This
Tights Commercial
A few weeks ago, it became clear that Miley
Cyrus and Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele were
working on something together, but *what* that
could be was unclear. Well, based on an
Instagram from Carlyne, they joined forces yet
again for a commercial for Golden Lady , a tights
company. Miley is serving as the face—er, legs,
I guess—of Golden Lady’s new line of seamless
tights. And man, the commercial is so Miley.
Like, she’s just bein’ Miley, but x 8950938.
Related: What Are Miley Cyrus And Carlyne
Cerf De Dudzeele Working On?
The ad, which Carlyne shared on her Instagram ,
was shot by Terry Richardson and features a
number of Miley trademarks, including a gold
car, a teddy bear, no shirts, and her tongue.
The tights, it seems, are perfect for standing
on top of cars, destroying teddy bears, and
dancing. They also go perfectly with balloons as
shirts, so basically, they’re perfect for all
occasions.
The campaign image on Golden Lady’s site
features no tights but so, so, so much bling.
She needs tights because she’s cold from all
this ice, y’know?
It’s unclear if we can expect anything more
from this collab, but, either way, this video will
fill the Miley-sized hole that’s in our heart now
that the Bangerz Tour is over. Thanks, Golden
Lady!

Why Desmond Eliot choose APC
Why I chose APC as my political
party – Desmond Elliot

BY DAMILOLA SHOLOLA & MAUREEN NWANZE
T here is no doubt that Desmond Elliot is one of
the most prolific actors in Nollywood. Not only
is he talented on screen, he is also into
directing and producing movies. Just recently,
he ventured into politics. Desmond Elliot is
planning to run for a seat in the Lagos State
House of Assembly come 2015.
We met him at a location in Lekki where he was
shooting his latest movie. In this exclusive
interview as our Showtime Celebrity he talks
about his career, political ambition and more:
What movie are you working on now?
It’s a movie called ‘Clueless’. It is starring Uru
Eke, Joseph Benjamin, Blossom Chukwujekwu and
my humble self
When is it going to be released?
Maybe before December or by January
When did you get into movie directing?
I started directing movies about 6 years ago
Which was the first movie you directed?
It’s called ’Uyai’, it’s an Akwa Ibom film
What has been the biggest movie you’ve acted
since you got into Nollywood?
I think it would be ‘Behind Closed Doors’ ; that
was almost 6 years ago
Has directing been more rewarding than acting?
Not financially, but fulfilling, Yes
What is the highpoint of your career as a movie
director?
You learn every day. I wouldn’t say I’ve gotten
to my peak but you learn every day. Directing
means being creative and being creative means
you’ve been doing a lot of thinking. And all that
is to be put into the film that you’re doing. I
wouldn’t say I’ve gotten to my peak yet but I
know I’m rising
Any challenges?
A lot; you have challenges with actors,
insufficient equipment, locations, unforeseen
circumstances, a lot.
What has been your highest budget movie in
terms of directing?
I can’t tell, maybe ‘Apaye’
What’s your idea of a good script?
A script that has a story that can be captivating,
that the people can relate with and that can be
slightly daring. This is so because you’re not
sure if the people would accept it or not
How has life been since you went into politics?
It’s been okay, it’s been good, it’s exposed me
to seeing more and the fact that I even want to
give back. Out there, the people are not asking
for a perfect turnaround, all they are asking for
is something that can symbolise a change in
their lifestyles.
Why did you suddenly go into politics?
I didn’t suddenly go into politics; politics has
always been a part of me. I’ve been involved in
campaigns for some Governors and even the
President. I’ve been on the campaign trail for
very long time now. Even though I have never
sought any elective office before I have always
had it at back of my mind as something I would
do one day. It is not a surprise at all, it’s a well-
thought out action and I came very prepared. I
didn’t just sleep one day and say okay, it’s time
to go into politics
If you were elected into the Lagos State House
of Assembly, what change should people expect
from you?
A Lot; First, I’m young, dynamic, very vibrant
and fast thinking. I’ve had lots of links with
corporate bodies, private bodies and nonprofit
organizations. Through me I know a lot can be
achieved because of my articulated experience.
Just wait and see me in action.
Why Surulere?
That’s my constituency; I think it’s good I face
my constituency for now
Are you going to leave Nollywood if you get
elected?
I can never leave Nollywood, I am only going to
help in propagating and promoting laws that
would help to structure the industry and make it
better and improve it from the present situation
– that’s it.
Why did the name ‘Olusola’ just come up from
nowhere?
Olusola didn’t just come up; I’m in an industry
where we have names. Desmond is my first
name, Elliot is my last name and my middle name
is Sola.
I’m going to a constituency that knows me as
Sola so I put it in; it’s not something I just
suddenly developed. Everyone is surprised,
we’ve gone past surprise; question is what do
you have to offer? Let’s move on. Whether I
have the name Sola or not, that does not affect
my capability to do work
How do you see some of your Nollywood
colleagues going into politics; do you think
anybody can just wake up one morning and say
they want to go into politics without having the
potential in them?s
First, everyone is entitled by law to vote and be
voted for. Secondly, I am maybe not too
surprised that many of Nollywood actors in this
dispensation are going into politics. It’s not too
far from the fact that there have been a lot of
socio-economic changes that have happened to
us in recent times.
That being as it may, we still must realize the
fact that Nollywood or entertainment as an
industry has contributed immensely to the
growth of the Nigerian economy and as such, it
is not absurd or strange that those who have
contributed to the growth of the economy
should want to partake in politics to serve. We
have a good relationship with our fans which are
the public and the grassroots.
Sometimes people don’t just accept it because
they don’t understand why somebody who is
playing make-believe on TV should want to rule
or serve.
At the end of the day, I can’t speak for
everybody but what I do know is everyone is
entitled as far as you’re a Nigerian to vote and
be voted for.
Many people believe that entertainers are
getting into politics because of money?
Granted, yes, there’s money in politics but have
you asked yourself one question, is it sand that
you use to play politics? The answer is No. What
you’re playing politics with is money. I’m not so
much into what government is going to be giving
as allowance, my idea as a fresh mind is how to
harness the resources around me and provide
for the people.
Because if I just stick with what government is
giving, then I am just going to be like everybody
else. But when I harness resources from both
home and abroad, harness NGOs, harness non-
profit organizations, corporate bodies, private
bodies, and bring all into creating social
responsibility and social development in the
people, then I know I’m achieving something
that has not been done before.
That is the major difference I’m bringing in;
using me and the platform I have to create a lot
and to make so many changes. It’s already
started.
You said you’re into politics for the youths?
I didn’t say I was there for the youths, I just said
I also represent the youths
Do you have anything special to offer them?
Oh yes, in my constituency, I want to make it a
point of duty that in the next two years, every
youth as long as you’re a Surulere resident,
you’re doing some form of tertiary education.
Right now as it stands, we have already gotten
admission for a couple of people at the Open
University to study.
We also have skills acquisition in that same
university, we also have things to offer like
nursing abroad. All these are subject to funding
which I intend to have from corporate bodies
and see how we can interface. There’s a lot that
could be done which is the reason why I said you
need brighter, fresher, renewable minds that are
ready to work.
My plan is to make sure I get people to go learn
skills, empower them by getting them shops to
realize these skills, get even the banking sector
into realizing the SMEs, make sure there’s
funding, try to get as many people off the
streets as possible
Are you planning to provide jobs for youths or
what?
I’m not a job maker but I can make sure that I
provide the avenue for which they can work. I
can influence things when I become a lawmaker.
Why APC?
It’s the party of change, it’s the party to be in,
and it’s the party to realize every dream. Its
manifesto has said we are giving more than a
million jobs to youths; every unemployed youth
is entitled to at least N5, 000 a month.
There’s housing and I’m talking genuine housing,
low-cost housing for people, the expansion of
Lagos State in terms of housing is one of the
things we’re looking at. There’s so much, not
just promises but things you know they can do.
A simple example is what you see happening in
Osun State which is almost like a blueprint
where even children are entitled to lunch; they
are entitled to one meal a day from the
government. Those are the kinds of social
welfare we’re talking about, alleviating the
problems and the poverty of people.
This is a party that means change; all I’m asking
for is people should get into this boat and seize
this opportunity to be in this party because it is
indeed the party of change. It is diversified in
terms of the people that are members of the
party, you couldn’t ask for anything better
Which politician do you admire or aspire to be
like?
I admire Raji Fashola for his administrative
effort; I admire Tinubu for his strong will and
resilience, and I also admire the innovative style
of Godswill Akpabio and his energetic mind in
nation-building. Those are the three people that
motivate me politically
Some people believe there’s no difference
between acting and politics..?
(Cuts in) There’s a huge difference. Politics is a
game, acting is more real. Politics is a game
because you’re dealing with people; it’s a game
of life. Acting deals with a way of life but they
are distinct in their ways, in their approaches
Many people perceive politics as a dirty game;
are they right in your own opinion?
I’ve always felt and I still feel that the Ministry
of National Orientation has failed as regards
this. I mean in giving people the right
orientation as regards politics and violence.
They have failed in their duty of sensitizing and
giving information to people on how they should
conduct themselves in a political dispensation.
The orientation should be a continuous thing,
not just during elections.
If people have been rightly sensitized that
violence is not part of politics, violence would
have disappeared in our politics.

Chidinma Ekile, one of Nigeria’s most talented
pop stars took music to another level when she
featured her mum, Mrs Martha Ekile, in a new
song dedicated to her. The song ‘Martha’ had
the mum doing the intro while Chidinma picked
it up from there.
*Chidinma
However the petite singer couldn’t hide her
excitement over the whole thing as she took to
her Instagram page to express her feelings: “The
song ‘Martha’ is dedicated to my mother, Mrs
Martha Ekile. I decided to show my fans a
different side to Chidinma, a side never revealed
to so many, a side I will forever remain grateful
and indebted to Father Lord for his
miraculous interventions and guidance in my
life,” she wrote.
“I was conceived and certified totally blind at
birth. For fifteen nights this woman held me in
her hands and wept uncontrollably, with my
father calling on God to bless the newly born,
Chidinma with sight. On the sixteenth day I
opened my eyes and they have been opened ever
since.
I was born a very fragile baby with some health
conditions. Her prayers took it all away. Life is
such a wonderful and colourful piece of art and
it must feel like hell not to envision God’s
creation” she added.
Behind the biggest butt in nollywood

Halima Abubakar
During the maiden edition of Africa Magic
Viewers Choice Award, AMVCA, in Lagos, one of
the top entertainment entrepreneurs, Alisa
Adibua, described Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde’s
walking by and seeing her from behind as
‘wonder in motion’, not because the mother of
four has suddenly turned a locomotive machine
hurtling by, but because of the elixir her well-
shaped backside seems to bring when she walks
by and you have to look at her from behind.
She isn’t the only one. Nollywood has so many.
There are the likes of Ini Edo, Mercy Johnson
and many other older girls but they are gradually
leaving the stage for younger faces. Here are a
list of some actresses drawn up by more than 20
of their colleagues:
Is Anita Joseph’s backside really bum-bastic?
Anita Joseph, clearly
isn’t a woman who
believes women
should be seen and
not heard. This
opinionated actress
and singer is ever
ready to air her
opinion on any issue
regardless of how
sensitive the issue is.
She once told
Potpourri that she can
never be a complete
housewife and she
meant it because
those words came out
of her after she
turned down a marriage proposal that came with
a ‘full housewife’ offer.
As much as she prides herself of having both
back and front in good measure, she would be
quick to remind you it is her backside that gets
in line after her. She once told Vanguard that her
backside is bumbastic, meaning it is hot.
How mean is Daniella Okeke’s ass?Daniella
Okeke has actually warned me not to talk about
her sexuality anymore. But how could anyone
blame me when her name keeps popping up.
Honestly, I haven’t picked her, 8 out of 10
actresses I asked to come up with names of
Nollywood actresses with best butts did.
But it is impossible to ignore this Lagos Cougar
actress. Even she had boasted on Instagram that
she has a mean ass! Nobody prompted her, it
was something that must have been playing on
her mind and she posted it on her Instagram
page. Is it just possible to ignore this piecce of
art crafted by God? Daniella, forgive me again.
Halima Abubakar’s vital assets?
Nollywood actress, Halima Abubabar caused a
media uproar recently when she posted a butt-
flaunting picture of herself on Instagram. As if
her butt alone wouldn’t be enough prospect for
weak hearts, Halima even adorned a mini-skirt
that added not only spark to the rude butt but
attitude many men would take to their sleep.
She once admitted that she knows her butt has
rousing effect on men, but it does seem Halima
isn’t done with letting some off the hook.
Biodun Okeowo: Why they call her `Hips Don’t
Lie’
Sultry Yoruba actress, Biodun Okeowo is a sight
to behold. She’s beautiful, friendly and with
curves so captivating that her friends have come
to name her ‘Hips Don’t Lie’. At least she once
told me that in an interview.
She’s an actress as well as a producer. She once
disclosed in an interview that men come with all
sorts of offers just to sleep with her. Would one
have to be a soothsayer to known what they are
all after? If her beautiful face doesn’t do it,
Biodun’s voluptuous hips must be the thing.
How embarrassing is Evia Simon’s butts?
Evia Simon is relatively new on the scene but
fast becoming an item that cannot be ignored.
Her talent for acting is as decent as her butt is
dangerous. The Three Generals act, When Love
Dies, Girls’ Cot once told Potpourri that men go
crazy over her butts, adding that even other
women embarrass her over the size of her butt.
She related an experience where a woman
followed her from a considerable distance just
to touch her ass and confirmed it was real.
Empress Njamah’s hot goods
Actress and businesswoman, Empress Njamah
has moved from that girl who never stayed out
of trouble to the quiet woman who would rather
pet you than bite you. She is more concerned
with helping the less-privileged these days and
running her House of Empress than globetrotting
the fast lanes of clubs and parties.
But is it easy to forget those Empress
tempestuous days? Not a chance. She got many
guys doing erotic frog jumps and doing more
hard than good to their image. No thanks to her
sexy emerald eyes and the backside that moves
with a wand to control the menfolks.
Woman with the largest boobs...
Photos: Meet the woman with the biggest
bo obs in the world
I’m sure you’ve heard about this lady at some
point. She holds the Guinness Book of World
Records’ for the largest breast in the world.
African-American Annie Hawkins-Turner (aka
Norma Stitz) has an under breast measurement
of 109.22 cm (43 inches) and an around chest-
over-ni pple measurement of 177.8 cm (70
inches).
She currently wears a US size 52I bra, the
largest made, but by American bra estimation,
these measurements would put her in a 48V bra,
which is not manufactured. The mother of two is
a website entrepreneur and a fetish model.
The one thing you never knew about lion king....
Here’s The One Thing You Never Knew
About ‘The Lion King’
One simple fact to help you be prepared for
your next viewing.
Sure you’ve watched Disney ‘s classic movie
“The Lion King ” a million times, but we can
guarantee there’s one thing you’ve never
thought about before: why is the villain, Scar,
named Scar?
Yes, yes, we know. It’s the scar on his eye.
But did he always have that scar? If he did,
wouldn’t he be called “Birthmark” instead of
“Scar?” After all, a scar is a thing you get
during your life, rather than something you
name someone – or some lion – hoping they’ll
get a scar later in life so their name is
appropriate.
Turns out, Scar wasn’t actually always named
Scar.
The character, originally voiced by Jeremy
Irons, has appeared in Disney animated movies,
TV shows and books multiple times – including
in both sequels to “The Lion King,” and the
animated spin-off “Timon & Pumbaa.”
But for information on Scar’s past, you’re
going to have to look to a story in “The Lion
King: Six New Adventures.” The particular
adventure, titled “ A Tale Of Two Brothers,”
appropriately tells the back-story of young
Mufasa and Scar, who at the time was named…
Wait for it…
Taka.
Why is that GIF of Scar so upset? That’s
because “taka” in Swahili translates to a few
different things in English: want, which makes a
lot of sense; as does desire. But most of the
time, the word is used to mean either “dirt” or
“garbage.”
So Scar’s parents named one of their kids Taka
– meaning “garbage” – and the other kid Mufasa
– meaning “king.”
Ouch.
In case you’re wondering how that piece of lion
garbage got his name-sake scar, he tricked a
buffalo named Boma into attacking Mufasa…
But when Taka started started laughing at his
own trick, Boma – and his herd of buffalo –
attacked Taka instead.
After he was saved by his father Ahadi – which
means “promise,” by the way – and healed by
Rafiki, the newly damaged lion said, “From now
on, call me Scar. Father, I won’t forget what
happened today. I promise.”
Yeah. So there you go. Scar got a literally
garbage name, and now you’ll never look at
“The Lion King” the same way again!

Maisy Vignes was 6 weeks premature when
she made her way into the world 4 years ago.
Her mother Emma who was in her late 20s at
the time, feared that that her newborn baby
wouldn’t make it through her first few days.
As it turned out, the mother had somehow
absorbed all of Maisy’s blood during the
pregnancy – something doctors had never
heard of before. Instead of healthy blood, the
girl’s veins were filled with only a plasma
substance. The baby had to spend two weeks
in intensive care and undergo a total of 3
blood transfusions.
Her parents were still frightened that Maisy
would grow up with brain damage, but she’s
now leading a normal life just like every other
average 4 year old and has taken a liking to
her school and teachers.

Why Shoki Singer , Orezi
Was Chased Out Of
Redeemer’ s University
Esegine Allen, better known by his stage
name Alhaji Orezi, is a Nigerian musician
from Delta State who rose to prominence
with his song “Rihanna” in 2013.
On Thursday, November 13, 2014 Orezi was
kicked out of the Redeemers University’s
premises by the school management, much
to the disapproval of several students who
started protesting the decision.
Orezi who was just about to perform his hit
track “Shoki” was chased out of the school,
after the University’s Chaplain was reported
to have threatened the DJ of the Event.
Left with no choice but to leave the school,
Orezi afterwards took to Twitter to
apologise to the disappointed students,
promising however to be back to entertain
them someday.
Apparently he was invited by Redeemer’s
University Student’s Association for the
2014 Fresher’s event tagged ‘The Debut
Night. ‘
